Consultation by Local Churches

David is assisting six French Catholic churches to consult their local population: Saint-Bernardin, Saint-Eugène, Sainte-Anne-de-Prescott, Saint-Grégoire in Vankleek Hill, Saint-Joachim in Chute à Blondeau and Saint-Jean-Baptiste in L’Orignal.  These parishes are in a regional pastoral grouping known as the “Unité pastorale du Soleil Levant”, whose chairman is Mr. Alain Lavigne of Ste-Anne-de-Prescott, and which operates under the guidance of the priest for this joint charge, Curé Albert Kaumba.  The goal is to consult the Franco-Ontarian population on how they relate to religion and thus how the RC Church can evolve to meet their needs.
Each church hosted two discussion meeting, open to the public.  The first was exploratory, the second was on the results of a survey completed by over 500 French Catholics.
*I was astonished - I have never had that many responses to a survey in my career! [outside of the City of Ottawa]
